I’m all for the slamming of the liberals for what they are doing to the postal workers, but this blog has been suspiciously silent on the fact that Alberta is currently in an economic crisis. They are currently losing 80 million dollars in oil and gas revenue a day. Alberta has no pipeline or rail capacity to get the 80 million barrels of excess out of the province. Companies are currently trucking the oil out of the province.

allthecanadianpolitics:

The oil industry is dying.

The sooner Alberta accepts that and shifts to renewables the better.

Alberta’s economy is the way it is with economic wins and losses almost solely dependent on the price of oil. A rollercoaster based economy like this is not stable.

This is not a healthy economy, and it is one that should not be subsidized any further by the government.

Oil workers should be financially supported to work in new renewable energy projects, not left to become the victim of late stage capitalism’s priorities of riches for oil tycoon’s over the humanity of the rest of us.

We do not need new pipelines or billions more in oil subsidies.

What we need is a 21st century energy industry that adheres to modern day climate science.
